Hosted by the SYNTHNOVA nightclub, situated within the enigmatic confines of a pocket dimension, our unique establishment is the destination for roleplayers seeking both short-term thrills and long-term connections without the stress and activity checks of a traditional game. Within these ever-shifting walls, patrons become the architects of their own adventures, crafting tales that could very well transcend time and space.

Think of SYNTHNOVA as a place where you can enjoy laid-back roleplaying and quick encounters but also have the freedom to craft more intricate plots and lasting continuity, offering the richness of traditional roleplaying games without the binding commitment. Here you can seamlessly introduce or bid farewell to your characters at will, all within an environment that caters to your unique roleplaying styles where the magic unfolds through player-suggested themes and plots, offering an unforgettable multiverse journey, whether you're here for a fleeting moment or something more enduring.

Rules

While our aim is to maintain a casual atmosphere, these guidelines must be followed by all players. Similar to a real club, we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason and our vigilant mods act as community bouncers to uphold these rules. Exceptions may be made for extraordinary circumstances and severe rule violations, but as a general practice, our community follows a "three strikes, you're out" system. To steer clear of any issues, simply follow the five straightforward rules below:


1. Character Acceptance: At SYNTHNOVA, we embrace characters of all kinds across all forms of media, from obscure and well-known canon characters to the original character you literally just conjured up five minutes ago. So long as your character is fictional, including those based in historical fiction (e.g., Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter), they are welcome here.

2. Age Requirement: All players must be 18+, no exceptions. While there are no formal age restrictions for characters, we encourage you to exercise your best judgment. This is a nightclub and while it's not really a place for children, sometimes being a teenager is all about being a little irresponsible and having fun.

3. Content Warnings: Please use content warnings when necessary. A list of of common triggers can be found here for your convenience. If you are uncertain, always err on the side of caution -- our aim here is to create an environment that is as welcoming as possible!

4. Adult Content: Adult themes and NSFW sexual content are permitted within the community, but all characters involved must be of legal age. Sexual assault and excessively graphic themes are not allowed within the community. Please ensure to clearly mark NSFW content with appropriate warnings and when in doubt: consider following your thread up outside of the community.

5. Most importantly: Always remember to follow the the wisdom of Bill S. Preston Esq. and Ted "Theodore" Logan – be excellent to each other. Show respect to the community, your fellow players, and yourself.

Question: What the fuck is this? (I'll fix this, shhhh)
Answer: SYNTHNOVA is meant to bridge the gap between a traditional game and more casual settings like bakerstreet, dear_player, sixwordstories, and other meme and dressing room communities. Here you'll find no commitments, no applications, and no burdensome activity checks – just a straightforward set of community rules. It's an entirely player-driven playground where events and themes are suggested and can be voted on by the player base.

Our plots range from the mundane, like a "live" performance by a band from a beloved fandom, to the exotic, where special drinks come with fun and even spicy side-effects, or even veer into outright chaos, with a hoard of zombies taking over the dance floor.

In SYNTHNOVA, time flows in real-time on a 1:1 ratio, but players are free to come and go at their leisure, interacting with posts as they see fit. The community provides a set of prompts and a setting, but the rest is up to you.

Events happens every Friday, stylized as a weekly club newsletter that highlights club happenings and introduces themes and prompts that players can choose to engage with or opt-out of entirely through their own top-level comments. We also encourage player-run events, enabling you to inject your character's canons and personal plotlines into the mix, and offer a "missed connections" post every Monday, perfect for general texting, sexting, and those unforgettable texts from last night.

Plotting

SYNTHNOVA is a player-driven experience and as such, we rely on players to help shape not only the community but the gameplay as a whole. This page is your platform to make requests, offer suggestions, and submit player-run plots that impact the entire community.

Player-run plots are welcomed at any time, but they undergo a review, approval, and scheduling process by our moderator team. This ensures even spacing of events and hammers out the details to guarantee an enjoyable experience for all. Player plots can encompass a wide range of ideas, including special performances by artist and entertainer characters, special themed nights hosted by player characters, or conflicts stemming from a character's home world. Player requests and suggestions serve as an ongoing pool of ideas for our moderator team to draw inspiration from over time. Feel free to propose theme nights, request special club events inspired by popular meme prompts, or simply share your ideas by leaving them below. If you see a player submission you'd like to see prioritized, leave a comment to give it a +1! Your input fuels the creative engine of SYNTHNOVA.

Location

Some kind of description of the club will be posted here. Maybe I'll replay Cyberpunk 2077 and get some sick enviro screenshots to use while I'm at it? I'd also love to keep a running history of the club here. Post significant events that happened here. We'll see how it goes.

Staff

This is where any potential NPCs will be listed, but I also like the idea of allowing players to apply for jobs in the club just for the fun of posting a fun staff profile and having something to include in their own little storylines. People like filling out lil bullshit profiles for their characters, right?

Menu

I'll post some kind of menu here. Food? Drinks? Again, this is something players can help add to, probably. Characters can have drinks named after them. It'll be cute.
