Rules
While our aim is to maintain a casual atmosphere, these guidelines must be followed by all players. Similar to a real club, we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason and our vigilant mods act as community bouncers to uphold these rules. Exceptions may be made for extraordinary circumstances and severe rule violations, but as a general practice, our community follows a "three strikes, you're out" system. To steer clear of any issues, simply follow the five straightforward rules below:
1. Character Acceptance: At SYNTHNOVA, we embrace characters of all kinds across all forms of media, from obscure and well-known canon characters to the original character you literally just conjured up five minutes ago. So long as your character is fictional, including those based in historical fiction (e.g., Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter), they are welcome here.
2. Age Requirement: All players must be 18+, no exceptions. While there are no formal age restrictions for characters, we encourage you to exercise your best judgment. This is a nightclub and while it's not really a place for children, sometimes being a teenager is all about being a little irresponsible and having fun.
3. Content Warnings: Please use content warnings when necessary. A list of of common triggers can be found here for your convenience. If you are uncertain, always err on the side of caution -- our aim here is to create an environment that is as welcoming as possible!
4. Adult Content: Adult themes and NSFW sexual content are permitted within the community, but all characters involved must be of legal age. Sexual assault and excessively graphic themes are not allowed within the community. Please ensure to clearly mark NSFW content with appropriate warnings and when in doubt: consider following your thread up outside of the community.
5. Most importantly: Always remember to follow the the wisdom of Bill S. Preston Esq. and Ted "Theodore" Logan – be excellent to each other. Show respect to the community, your fellow players, and yourself.
